Fingal County Council appointed Ait develop to a park upgrade plan for Lanesborough park in Meakstown, Dublin 11. With considerations for the community and existing infrastructure and adhering to objectives within the Fingal Development plan 2017-2023.
Following a public consultation key themes were identified and listed. These informed a park design tailored to the needs and aspirations of the surrounding community.
Amenities within the new proposal include: A widened perimeter path for enhanced functionality, A playground with a toddler play area, and an additional playground adjacent to the proposed community centre. Flexible, open lawn space for general amenities, widened central avenue for public events such as markets, a terraced seating area, which also allows viewpoints of the pitch. Open space margin which have been meadow seeded and managed for biodiversity enhancement. A communal garden has been installed, along with a sensory garden. The existing kissing gates are to be removed from all park entrances, and replaced with mountable kissing gates where deemed necessary.
