Musgrave group commissioned Áit Urbanism + Landscape to improve the visual impact of the Supervalu carpark on Sundrive road. The planting scheme is a key action for their support of the All-Ireland pollinator plan, so pollinator friendly planting was essential for this scheme.
Existing, under-utilised hard landscaping was removed, and given over to new planted beds framed by new Corten steel edging. The scheme includes a variety of pollinator friendly plants selected from the National Biodversity Centre Planting code, and a minority of ornamental plants.
The beds are lined with Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) to provide a more formal edge. Crab Apple (Malus) and Hydrangea trees were also planted within the scheme.
