    Site area:2.0 ha / 4.94 acres
    Budget:n/a
    Timeframe:Masterplan completed May 2010

Design of a new public squares, streetscape and residential courtyard gardens as part of the regeneration of the Charlemont Street social housing complex in Dublin City Centre.

The project is a Public Private Partnership between Dublin City Council and Alcove Properties. Through each successive stage of the project the design team have liaised closely with the community and Dublin City Council staff.

The masterplan is shaped by a clear urban design strategy which seeks to maximise the potential for permeability through the site and the making of new connections in the city.

An intimate public square forms the fulcrum of the new quarter, overlooked by offices, shops, housing and community uses. The residential courtyard gardens incorporate play areas, semi mature trees and groundcover planting for seasonal interest.
